New Route Availability

SimRail S.A. has released the Łódź North Region DLC, making it available immediately on Steam. This expansion extends the game's Polish railway network by introducing 140 kilometers of new track. The routes are structured around two specific single-track lines: the connection between Kutno and Zgierz, and the segment linking Zgierz to Łowicz.

The design of these lines emphasizes operational complexity over simple point-to-point travel. According to the developer's announcement, the route features junction stations, historic station buildings, and passing loops. These elements create a scenario where traffic management is critical; the single-track nature means that a delay in one train can cascade down the entire line, affecting subsequent schedules.

Operational Focus

The Łódź North Region is positioned as a test of planning under pressure. The developer notes that whether players choose to operate from the driver's cab or manage traffic via the dispatcher's panel, the core challenge remains consistent: maintaining schedule integrity on constrained infrastructure.

For singleplayer users, new scenarios have been added specifically for this DLC region. These are designed to utilize the unique constraints of the Kutno-Zgierz-Łowicz corridor. Additionally, the AI traffic pool has been updated with new repaints, ensuring that non-player trains reflect a wider variety of liveries and operational roles within the simulation environment.

Concurrent Game Update

Alongside the DLC release, SimRail S.A. is rolling out a broader update to the base game. This patch includes new rolling stock, scenery improvements, and a series of technical fixes across multiple systems. The changes affect multiplayer stability, vehicle mechanics, dispatcher controls, and user interface elements.

Rolling Stock Enhancements

The most significant additions to the fleet involve electric locomotives. The EU07-001 has been added as a new available unit. Furthermore, the Siemens Traxx family has received substantial expansion; 19 new repaints have been introduced, and two existing variants have been reworked. These updates increase the visual variety and operational flexibility for players managing freight or passenger services.

Fixes have also been applied to the 36WEd locomotive. The update includes support for double traction, a feature that was previously unavailable or broken. This option has now been re-enabled in singleplayer mode as well. Other vehicle-related fixes include correcting the mirror display on the EP08-008 and adding missing translations for the CD163 engine room interface.

Dispatcher and Multiplayer Systems

The dispatcher toolset has received a new capability aimed at handling complex traffic situations. Players can now allow a specific train to pass a signal at danger using additional outpost actions. This feature provides granular control for resolving conflicts or recovering from delays in real-time multiplayer sessions.

Multiplayer infrastructure has also been updated with revised timetables and train compositions specifically tailored for the Łódź North Region DLC. These adjustments ensure that shared server environments reflect the intended operational density of the new single-track lines.

Scenery and Interface Fixes

The update addresses various visual and functional issues in the base game. Scenery fixes have been applied across the map to improve environmental consistency. In terms of user interface, paper timetables have been regenerated to reflect current data structures. Additionally, missing achievements for both the Łódź Junction DLC and the new Łódź North Region DLC have been added to the achievement list. A specific bug affecting the "Feeling dizzy?" achievement has also been resolved.

Future Development

The developer indicates that this release is part of a continued development cycle. SimRail S.A. states they are already working on the next route, which will move outside the Łódź region, as well as another new train model. The team has promised more details and updates in upcoming posts, suggesting an ongoing commitment to expanding the game's content library.

For simulation users, the immediate impact of this release is the availability of a high-density, single-track operational environment that tests scheduling precision. Combined with the technical fixes for locomotive traction and dispatcher controls, the update aims to refine both the challenge and stability of rail operations in SimRail.
